RRB NTPC stands for Railway Recruitment Board Non-Technical Popular Categories, covering various railway administrative, commercial and traffic posts.

2. Can a 12th-pass student apply?

Yes, for eligible Undergraduate-category posts under an applicable recruitment notice. Graduate-only posts require a degree.

3. Is graduation compulsory for all NTPC jobs?

No. NTPC has separate graduate and 12th-pass categories, when notified.

4. What are CBT 1 and CBT 2?

They are first- and second-stage computer-based tests. Standard CBT 1 has 100 questions, and CBT 2 has 120 questions.

5. Is there negative marking?

In standard NTPC CBT exams, 1/3 mark is deducted for each wrong response.

6. Is the typing test required for every post?

No. It is required for designated typing posts only, subject to the official CEN.

7. Is a Station Master job part of NTPC?

It has been included in past Graduate NTPC notifications. Do not assume it is included in the reported 2026 Graduate list; check the current post-wise notification.

8. Is an interview required?

There is generally no personal interview in the standard NTPC selection process; applicable CBT, skill/aptitude, DV and medical stages govern selection.

9. How much salary will I receive?

Initial basic pay depends on the post and pay level, for example ₹19,900, ₹21,700, ₹29,200 or ₹35,400. Gross and in-hand amounts depend on allowances, posting and deductions.

10. Where can I find the official notification?

Refer to the central RRB website and your applicable RRB's official recruitment notices. The official employment notice prevails over coaching and news summaries.

11. Is the RRB NTPC exam conducted in Telugu?

RRB CBTs have offered multiple language options including Telugu in earlier notifications. Verify the specific CEN's language list and selection procedure.

12. Can I apply to more than one Railway Recruitment Board?

Recent CENs have restricted candidates to one RRB for the notified recruitment. Check the current CEN for detailed rules and consequences of duplicate applications.

13. Does CBT 1 score count in final merit?

CBT 1 has generally been screening in recent NTPC cycles; post-dependent merit commonly uses CBT 2 and, where relevant, aptitude-test performance. Confirm current rules.

14. When will CBT exams happen?

Dates are announced through official notices separately. Do not rely on speculative exam calendars.

15. How can I prepare for NTPC?

Cover the full syllabus, revise current affairs, practise previous-year questions, take timed mocks and track accuracy under negative marking.
