CEN 06/2026 – Graduate Posts: 3,548 Vacancies
A recognized university degree (or its equivalent) is required. Initial pay shown is basic pay in the 7th CPC level, not in-hand salary; allowances and deductions depend on posting and rules.

Important 2026 change: The Computer Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST) has been dispensed with for Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist and Senior Clerk cum Typist in CEN 06/2026. Candidates still need basic computer and typing proficiency, which may be assessed after joining.
CEN 07/2026 – Undergraduate Posts: 1,688 Vacancies

Application corrections generally involve a non-refundable ₹250 modification fee per occasion. Account-registration details and the chosen RRB cannot be changed. Do not use unofficial or speculative CBT dates as confirmed dates.
Educational Qualification, Age Limits & Relaxations
Qualification deadline: Applicants must possess the required completed qualification by the respective application closing date. Candidates awaiting final examination results are not eligible. Age is calculated as of 1 January 2027.

Reservation claims require the certificates and category conditions specified in the notification. OBC applicants must qualify under the Central OBC-NCL list, not merely a state list. EBC fee concession is different from EWS job reservation.

Payment is online only. Refund is conditional on appearing for the first-stage CBT and is governed by the Aadhaar-seeded bank account and other official rules. An EBC concession requires prescribed proof; merely belonging to OBC or EWS does not establish EBC eligibility.
Selection Process & Exam Pattern
Both CENs: CBT 1 → CBT 2 → Document Verification → Railway Medical Examination. RRB may conduct additional stages if notified. Selection is merit-based and includes normalization where CBTs are held in multiple shifts.

- Each question carries 1 mark; one-third mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.
- For qualifying candidates entitled to a scribe, the duration is 120 minutes.
- Minimum qualifying percentage: UR/EWS 40%, OBC-NCL/SC 30%, ST 25%; additional notified PwBD relaxation may apply.
- Shortlisting for CBT 2 is normally up to 15 times the community-wise vacancies, subject to RRB discretion.
- No separate pre-appointment CBTST for the four typist posts identified above in these 2026 notices.
Complete RRB NTPC CBT Syllabus 2026
Mathematics: Number system, decimals, fractions, LCM, HCF, ratio and proportion, percentages, mensuration, time and work, time and distance, simple and compound interest, profit and loss, elementary algebra, geometry, trigonometry and basic statistics.
General Intelligence & Reasoning: Analogies, number and alphabet series, coding–decoding, mathematical operations, similarities and differences, relationships, analytical reasoning, syllogism, jumbling, Venn diagrams, puzzles, data sufficiency, statement–conclusion, statement–course of action, decision making, maps and graph interpretation.
General Awareness: Current national and international events, sports, Indian art and culture, literature, monuments, general science up to Class 10 CBSE, Indian history and freedom struggle, Indian and world geography, polity and Constitution, science and technology including space/nuclear programmes, UN and international organizations, environmental issues, computer basics, abbreviations, transport in India, Indian economy, personalities, government schemes, Indian flora and fauna, and major public organizations.
The same broad subjects apply to CBT 1 and CBT 2; the second stage has more questions. Students should combine conceptual practice, timed tests and revision.
