Questions students ask

Railway Recruitment Board Non-Technical Popular Categories: clerical, ticketing, goods and station posts in Indian Railways.
Can a 12th-pass student apply?
Yes, for the Undergraduate-level posts in the notice.
Can graduates apply for Undergraduate posts?
A higher qualification does not disqualify you, but you must meet every condition of that notice.

No. Only the typing posts (Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist) need the Typing Skill Test.

Yes, 1/3 mark for each wrong answer in the CBTs.
What is the age limit?
It changes with each notice. The 2025 notices gave 18–33 for Graduate posts and 18–30 for Undergraduate posts, with OBC-NCL +3 and SC/ST +5 years relaxation.
Which NTPC post is best?
It depends on pay, work profile, posting and growth. Station Master is a popular choice among graduates.
